Our Ethics

A community-oriented, socially-responsible company

Striving for sustainability

The entire Bright team is committed to us being a socially and environmentally-responsible company.

Since 2022, we’ve partnered with Carbon-Neutral Britain to take a proactive approach to shrinking our carbon footprint.

In 2023, we formed a dedicated Social Responsibility Working Group to steer us towards our goals of a more sustainable future.

We’re now working towards stringent environmental goals, including the introduction of KPIs to measure and reduce our carbon emissions.

On an individual level, recycling has been one of our company’s internal best practices for a long time, covering paper, cardboard, plastic, and cans.

Thanks to our collaboration with Recorra, we’ve expanded our recycling efforts to include batteries, soft plastics, and waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) items as well.

Our hybrid team has also embraced a new sustainable work-from-home policy that promotes energy-efficient working practices, whether at home or in the office.

Supporting the local community

As a people-first company, we value our local community and actively work hard to support it.

One community organisation we regularly support is CoderDojo Brighton, which encourages young people to become creators rather than just users of computers, through a fortnightly free coding club.

We also support Lean Agile Brighton. This is a great group for anyone in the local area to meet, discuss, explore, and learn about lean and agile development.

Silicon Brighton is another local organisation we’re proud to be involved with. Silicon Brighton is a community that supports digital growth in the South East, providing individuals with free opportunities for networking, training, up-skilling, and development.

Contributing to charities

Since our mission is to have a positive impact on work, people, and the planet, we also recognise the importance of contributing to charitable causes and not-for-profit organisations.

In fact, we actually keep a percentage of our annual turnover aside to contribute to charities each year, as well as donating twice per year to local charities.

In 2023, the excellent Clock Tower Sanctuary was the recipient of our annual Christmas donation.

Our flagship products, Asset Bank and Dash, provide discounts for charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Fundraiser for Ukraine

We’re raising money for British Ukrainian Aid – and we need your help!

To show solidarity for Ukraine, Bright are raising money for British Ukrainian Aid to a charity who sends medical equipment and emergency vehicles out to people who need it the most.

From 31st May to 5th July, our employees will come together, logging bike rides, runs and walks, to virtually cover the distance of 2,342km from Brighton to Kyiv.

Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy allows us to stay up-to-date and proactive in our efforts to be a socially-responsible company.
